Tuesday, August 14, 8pm: “Dress rehearsal” for the John Maestas-Asher Barreras Nonet performance later in the week. JQ is one of 2 trumpeters in the group, also has brought in an arrangement of his original composition “Brindahl”. The group will perform all original music, written and arranged by the band members, and this Tuesday preview show will take place at Ben Michael’s, 2404 Pueblo Bonito NW Albuquerque, NM US. Phone: (505) 224-2817. After the nonet plays, a jazz jam session will begin which finishes at 11:00 PM.
Thursday, August 16, 7:30pm sharp: the John Maestas-Asher Barreras Nonet performs at the Outpost on Yale in ABQ. The night is split
between this group and another band, and the nonet will perform first, doing a set of only 45 minutes so get there early! This is the best

Saturday, August 25, 7 – 10pm: The brand-new Flamenco-Jazz instrumental group Tierra Soniquete performs at El Meson in Santa Fe.
This new group brings the Flamenco expertise of guitarist Joaquin Gallegos and percussionist Enrique Peru together with JQ’s trumpet
jazz to make a hot fusion like nothing else happening in New Mexico! This will be the debut performance of this group. (note the earlier
start and finish time than El Meson’s usual)
